Snitch

The book Snitch is written by Allison van Diepen and is based on a true story. This story I would recommend to young adults because it has to deal with peer pressure, drugs, gangs, etc. Even teens in our school are having to deal with some of these things and it makes you want to keep reading because it pertains to people our age. This book is about a young girl named Julia DiVino that is trying to stay out of gangs and do things right but its hard with all of the peer pressure and bad influences in her school. When she meets a guy she really likes, Eric Valienté, things go bad because she starts to join a gang and ends up having to move away from her love so she can change her life and better her future. I would recommed this book to anyone that is facing peer pressure and want to read a book that will keep them on the edge of their seat.

A Child Called "It"

A Child Called "It" is the most inspirational story I have ever read. I recommend this book to young adults because it gives you the courage to keep going because its hard to be a teen and growing up. This book is written by Dave Pelzer and it is based on his life story. Dave is mentally and physically abused by his alcoholic "mother" and she makes him feel like hes nothing. She takes everything out on Dave even when he hasn't done anything wrong and she says he is a "bad boy." This story makes you want to keep reading because there is so much to it and makes you wonder if Dave has enough courage to keep going. Dave to me is someone with the greatest amount of courage that I have ever seen. Dave is just trying to make it through life and survive. I would encourage people that want to be inspired to read this book.

Madapple

Madapple by Christina Meldrum is a book about a sheltered young girl, Aslaug. I found this to be an interesting story, but a very boring read. It was hard to follow through and finish this book. There are a lot of things the story covers, such as religions that most people don't know about and all these plants. Basically if you don't know anything about either of these topics, or even if you do, it is still very confusing to read and understand.

Angry Management

Angry Management was a very good book by Chris Crutcher. This is the perfect book for all of Crutcher's fans; unfortunately I can't say I have read many of his past books, but this book was still great nonetheless. The reason fans would enjoy this book is because the characters are all from previous books, which I think is very interesting to do in a book. And everyone of these characters are all teenagers with issues. That is why they get put into Mr. Nak's Angry Management group. Everyone in Mr. Nak's group has their own stories that begin to come out with each chapter. I love how this book works even if you haven't read many of the others and know the character's stories. It still works out and you learn about the characters through this story. I really enjoyed this book and am planning on reading more of Crutcher's books so I can become more in tune with his amazing characters.

Sucker Punch

In the book Sucker Punch By David Hernandez, Marcus or known as Nub to his friends is a teenager who has a younger brother who's name is Enrique. Marcus is 17 and on his last year of high school. Their father left them a year earlier; telling them to never contact them again. As soon as Enrique and Marcus thought things were going well in their family, their mother tells them that he might move back in the house. They're both furious about this idea; in the earlier years when they were younger their dad used to brutally hit Enrique for the slightest things. The reason for Marcus' nickname is for because a few years before their dad left; he was skateboarding, he fell and his finger hit a wall outside their house. His mom and Enrique quickly took him to the emergency room; not knowing where his finger was. Marcus' friends soon started calling him Nub, and as you can tell it stuck with them. Ashley, Enrique's girlfriend but Marcus' secret crush. Oliver, Enrique, Ashley, and Marcus decide their going to go on a road trip; Ashley soon finds out the plan that they had, she quickly gets angry with Enrique. Oliver has a starter pistol, Marcus and Enrique decide to give their dad a little visit, but not the type of visit you'd normally expect; with all the anger Enrique has built up over the years from his dads abuse, makes things easier to follow through with the plan, not only that Enrique hasn't taken his pills in the last few days making things even less difficult. Their standing at their dads front door step, walking into his tiny, crammed apartment; sitting down on his couch Marcus quickly realizes that his dad has changed. Enrique doesn't want to face the facts that he truly has; going through counseling and getting help with his anger issues. Enrique grabs the starter pistol, which his dad thinks is a real one until Marcus tells him; the frightened look on their father's face eases up some. He stands their with the pistol in his hands, yelling at his dad to say he was sorry; Enrique giving many similar qualities his dad gave the previous year. I give this book a 4.5 out of 5 because even though I didn't find the cover of the book that interesting; the book its self always kept my attention and made me want to keep on ready.

Rash

Rash by Pete Hautman was a very interesting read. It is set in the future, around 2070's and just about everything is illegal. From french fries to football to verbal abuse. Everything is monitored and if anyone has any outburst or tantrums it is recorded and that person could be sent to jail. But jail in this time isn't like it is today; it is a work camp that helps run the country. With it being so easy to go to jail in this time, a large percent of the country is in jail. So they set up work camps that make the goods and run the country, such as having teenage boys work at a pizza factory or minors work on the road clearing it up. I always find it interesting reading something about a messed up future. But for Bo Marsten he finds nothing about it messed up. That is of course until he gets in trouble and sent to a work camp. He learns how scared he's been his whole life is for no reason, he learns to truly have fun and what he's good at. This is a good book and I recommend it to anyone that likes future books such as these.

Shattering Glass

Shattering Glass is about teenage friends in their senior year who "have it all". Young is the narrator of this compelling story. He and his friends all followed their "leader", Rob, who decided to make the nerd of the school one of their cool new friends. Simon Glass is a geeky, computer loving, anti-social, nerd of the school. He is always being made fun of and getting picked on. Until one day, Rob decides he wants to transform the nerd into prince charming of the school. Rob is already the most liked guy in the school and he considers it a fun challenge for him and his friends to get people to like the unlikeable. Unfortunately, we find out from the beginning and from all the foreshadowing done at the start of each chapter, that Young and his friends killed Simon. But the story goes on and we find out what exactly would cause them to kill Simon Glass. I think the story does a nice job of the foreshadowing by parents, teachers, friends, and police; in the future telling us what happened to the boys after they committed that awful act. I thought this was a good book that was done creatively. I liked the idea of knowing what's going to happen before it does.

The Book Thief

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (author of The Messenger) is one of the best books I've ever read. I've read the book twice in the last two years and it is still one of my favorites. It is a book about a young German girl in Nazi Germany. Liesel Meminger is only nine years old when she is taken to her foster parents. On the ride to them, her younger brother, Werner, dies and leaves a hole in her heart from then on. At his funeral, Liesel takes a book left behind by the grave digger, and this starts a long list of book stealing. The book takes us through five years of Liesel's life on Himmel Street in Molching, Germany with her new foster parents. It is told in the eyes of Death. This is an excellent story about growing up and loving the people around you. I think it is astounding how Zusak uses Death as the narrator in this outstanding book. It's hard not to fall in love with the very realistic characters and to care so much about them. It is kind of a longer read but I promise you once you get started, it's next to impossible to put down.

Glass

Glass is the continuing story of Crank. The book Glass picks up when she has her son Hunter who's father raped her. Now having a baby to take care of, Kristina thinks she will have control over her meth addiction, but she's wrong. She figures out that she needs the monster to get through her everyday life and to do that she needs to give up her baby too. When she gets back into the monster she meets a guy named Trey and ends up falling in love with him. Together they figure out the struggle of being on there own and trying to find money for there addiction. They both find there selves in jail after getting busting with a half pound of meth and also another child in the picture. I thought this book wasn't as good as Crank and I really didn't like the ending, but over all it was a pretty good book and really shows you where drugs can leave you.

In the book A Child Called “It” by Dave Pelzer, Dave is treated very poorly; many unexpected things happen to him while he is living at his house. In his younger years before the abuse started, his mother Catherine and his father Stephan used to love him and treat him just as if they treated his other two brothers. Soon enough things changed in the household, Dave’s punishment starts out with standing in a corner for many house; quickly switching to vicious things. He had to wash dishes in a time limit which he never seemed to finish in time, the water was scalding hot. That was only the beginning of what has happened to him, his mom smashed his head onto mirrors making him repeat over and over “I am a bad boy”. He would go days without any food, he started stealing food from other classmates lunch boxes; the school realized it was him and called his mother. He always tried to stay a step ahead of her, but things didn’t work out as he had planned every attempt he made to get food; his mother made him throw up the food and knew he had eaten or not. She made him drink spoonfuls of ammonia which Dave thought at those moments that he was going to die, this treatment didn’t last long. She quickly changed it to him having to clean the bathroom with the door closed and a bucket of ammonia and Clorox. Many students picked on Dave for the way he had dressed, smelled, and acted; but he couldn’t help it. He was an easy target for the bullies; his mother decided that she wanted him held back in the first grade, which made him in the same grade as Stan. He never got presents at Christmas; Stan questioned why Dave only had gotten a few presents and that resulted in a lecture. Dave was now treated like the slave of the family, she thought of a new punishment for him quickly. She asked him to take off all his clothes while filling up the bathtub with all cold water, he didn’t quite understand it at first, but soon enough he hated it. His head had to be under the freezing cold water while, she would tell him to get out going outside and sit on a rock for hours. He tried to sit in the sunny part, but she requested in the shade so he did what she said. Dave quickly realized that he had to be stronger then her, but she got him to hate himself. His heart sunk deeper then ever when he finally knew his mother only recgonized him as an "it", not a real person anymore.

Impossible

Impossible is a book about a teenage girl, Lucy, that lives a pretty normal life. She does well in school, she is a good athlete, she is looking forward to her junior prom, oh and she has a crazy mother that gave her up to some friends and haunts her occasionally throughout her life. But she has a great life with her foster parents, they love her as their daughter and she's never thought of them as anything but parents. But on prom night something terrible happens, that leads to Lucy researching her family's history and finding out a terrible secret. She comes to realize that her family is cursed. And it is up to her to break that curse, just like every member of her family has tried before her and failed. Only she has something they never had, she has a family that loves and supports her, and maybe something new with her long time friend, Zach? This is a good book about love and trust and helping the ones that you love and reality or fantasy, whats real or not. It's a great read and I really enjoyed it.

The True Story of Hansel and Gretel

The True Story of Hansel and Gretel is a story that is obviously based off the children's story, Hansel and Gretel. Only that this book is placed in the setting of World War 2 in Poland. It begins in 1943 and is a very scary time for the characters in the book, because not only are Hansel and Gretel children but they are Jewish children running for their lives in this scary time. This book tries to explain the reasoning for the things that happen in the children's story and does a good job at it too. This is my favorite book of all time and I've read it a bunch of times, and still each time I learn of something different in the book. It's a great book about survival, war, friendships and family, learning who to trust and when it's most important. I also enjoy this story because it doesn't just follow Hansel and Gretel but also the "witch" they live with and their father and stepmother and we learn the reasons they abandoned their children. Louise Murphy has an interesting way of writing by always changing who's point of view it's in, sometimes by every other paragraph. I love the originality in this book, you really feel for each character you meet and it's an amazing story. I recomed this book to anyone who would like to know the true story.

Kim: Empty Inside

Kim: empty inside is about a teenage girl that is suffering from an eating disorder. This book is another that is from an anonymous teenager diary. The story starts off from when life seems to being going okay for this teen, it is right before she graduates and goes off to college. But right from the beginning we see a little problem with her eating. It is as the story progresses and she moves to college with new people and harder classes and her family and friends aren't there with her anymore. She becomes stressed and deals with it by her food. In this book, we watch how a girl with everything going for her slowly destroys her life. It's a sad tale because of how true it is these days, but it is a really good story. I love how it doesn't seem like an actual book because it's in diary mode, it's more fun.

Great Expectations

Great Expectations takes place in 19th century England and it is about a young man named Pip, who was raised "by hand" by his overbearing older sister after his parents passed away. Pip and his sister live in a forge with Joe Gargery, her husband, who is a blacksmith. In the beginning of the novel, Pip meets an escaped convict in the graveyard where his parents were buried who threatens to kill him if he doesn't bring him some food and a file to get the iron shackle off of his leg. Pip does this out of fear and the convict leaves him be. When he returns home, it is arranged that he should be apprenticed to Joe, and become a blacksmith. Before this happens, however, Pip is forced to play at Miss Havisham's house. Miss Havisham is an older, aristocratic woman who hasn't left her house since she was left at the alter by her lover, who scammed her into buying her brother's share of some property left to him by their deceased father at an immensely high price so he could split the profits with her brother. As he regularly visits Miss Havisham's house, Pip gets a taste of the sweet life and he doesn't want to go back to the forge to be a blacksmith. He also meets a girl named Estella, who was adopted by Miss Havisham with the sole intent of raising her to be a heartbreaker so she could have her revenge on men. She is very condescending to Pip, but this doesn't stop him from falling in love with her. Just after he is bound to be apprenticed to Joe, he is informed that someone had put aside a large sum of money for him. This marks the beginning of Pip's Great Expectations. However, he would soon find out, after getting a taste for the finer things in life, how money erases the goodness in people's hearts, and he starts to regret leaving the forge and, more importantly, his family. I can't say any more without ruining some really good surprises, but i would definitely reccomend this book to anybody who likes stories with memorable, realistic characters and suspensful plot turns. This is by far the best novel I've ever read.

Brisingr

This book is the third installment in Christopher Paolini's Eragon series. After surviving the dreaded battle in Farthen Dur in the first book, Eragon, and the catastrophe of the battle on the Burning plains against another Dragon Rider, Eldest, Eragon along with his cousin Roran are seeking out the dreaded creatures known as the Ra'Zac that attacked and destroyed their home of Carvahall and killed Brom the story teller (a fellow rider). As Eragon traverses the landscape of Alagaësia in search of a new sword and ridding the world of the dreaded dark king Galabtorix he learns of secrets that will shock the young rider and turn his world upside down. The novel is filled with romance, drama, revelation, action and an intense twist to the plot. Through Paolini's writing you will see a whole new world unlike our own as the Elves,Dwarves, Urgal, and Human unite in order to save the world from a dark tyranny that has for long destroyed and shattered peoples lives and learn of their one true hope of forever defeating the dark king. I enjoyed this book enough to read it a second time, it's captivating and an fantasy genre. lover should settle down and read the series. Overall I'd give this book a 8 out of 10.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisingr

Annie's Baby

Annie's Baby is set up as a journal by Annie as she tells the reader everything that is happening to her in her life. She confides in the diary, which she named Daisy, what she cannot tell anyone else. Daisy is her only friend later on, so through Daisy's eyes we can understand Annie better. This book is about a teenage girl that falls for the perfect guy and they both love each other, and live happily ever after. Okay, not really. It's more, Annie falls for Danny, and Danny uses Annie. But then, Annie finds out shes pregnant, And Danny wants nothing to do with her. So now shes on her own. She begins to realize how mean Danny truly was to her and that she doesn't need him; but she does need help with this baby. What will she do? Shes scared to tell her mother and doesn't have any friends. So she tells everything she thinks to her dear old diary, and we see how everything unravels. It really is a great book, and a true story which makes it sad. But I would recommend it to anyone.

you remind me of you

You Remind Me of You is a memoir on someone's teenage years. The book is written all in poetry and it is very creatively done. I loved reading the poems that tell a story, I thought it very interesting. The book in general is about a girl in her teens that suffers with an eating disorder. She goes in and out of a hospital for years but the one thing she has is her boyfriend and anchor, Daniel. He is the one that gets her through her tough time, and when he does something so upsetting, she is still there for him. It's a story about love and lust and hurt and betrayal. It's a great read and I definitely recommend it. If you are looking for something new and different to read, or if you enjoy reading poetry as well. Very good.

The Big Empty

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if half the world died from a nasty virus? Well in The Big Empty, you get a look at what one person thinks it would be like. It is interesting enough. Can the kids make it to the new world when there are police and soldiers patrolling the area willing to shoot anyone out of place? Find out and read, The Big Empty.

She ends up making the wrong choice when she has a decision to be with him and be a part of the action or not. Julia doesn't realize what Eric is hiding and the secrets he isn't willing to share. She runs into a lot of opsticales and ends up getting beaten up and jumped. She finds out once a crip, your always crip. Also the label of being a snitch which may never leave you. I thought this was a pretty good book and an easy read. Here's another review of Snitch.

I Am The Messenger By Markus Zusak

I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak is a great read. I have read Zusak's other book, The Book Thief, and named it one of my favorites, so I was excited to read his other well-known book. This book is about a guy named Ed Kennedy. The exposition starts off with Ed and his friends in a bank robbery. Ed pretty much saves the day by catching the robber, which he later goes on to regret. Why? Because there are some pretty odd things happening to Ed. Things like, he is getting playing cards (Ace's in fact) in the mail with little messages on them that he has to figure out to help the people it was meant to help. Ed finds there are good and bad people in the world, and what that truly means. Nineteen year old Ed Kennedy will take the reader on a trip that will never be forgotten. He has four suites to go through with three names on it each. He goes through the mystery of figuring the names out then of finding the people and what he has to do to help them and then the last and final question, Who is behind it all? Figure it out and read the great story, I Am The Messenger.

Schooled by Gordon Kormon

In Schooled, a young boy named Cap grew up on a farm with his grandmother rain. Walking into this house would be like traveling back through time to the sixties. They lived with out many things people use in modern day life. Early on in the story, Cap's grandmother falls out of a plum tree in their yard and breaks her hip. Cap was then sent away to live with an old friend of rains while she recovered from her injury. Decked out in tie die and rugged sandles, cap definately stands out from people in normal society. He gets sent to a city where he is to attend public school for the first time. When he arrives, he is amazed by all the things that he has never seen before, like as simple as a tv. On Cap's first day of school everyone stares at him and he soon becomes the new target for bullying in the school. At Claverage middle school, where he is attending, the yearly prank is to elect the biggest 'geek' in school as class president. This is done for the sole purpose of entertainment, just so the kids can pick on him even worse. But slowely throughout the year, Cap's kindness and helping personality win him more and more friends as the story goes on. By the end of the book, Cap has the whole school behind his back.

Ty knows that leaving this business will leave his Father with nothing in the end when he gets out of prison. With that being said, I thought it was a good book and an easy read. Here is another review done by MadTales.

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

City of Ashes was about, Clary Fray, the protagonist trying to find a cure for her mother and trying to get used to the new life that she now has. Clary's mother is still in a spell induced coma and no one can figure out how to get her out of it. She also has to live with the fact of what she learned in the end of the last book about Jace. And because of that him and Clary are having a lot of problems. Can they figure it out in time to find Valentine before he destroys their race? Since the first book, Valentine has stolen yet another Mortal Instrument and has even bigger plans than before. We soon come to question, who's side is Jace on? This book is also filled with so much twists and turns it's insane. Once started, it's hard to put down. Full of action and some drama and so very interesting.

His social worker gives him a choice if he wants to do a normal boring counseling group for anger or work with dogs, so he picks the dogs. Josh expects it to be much easier, but it turns out to be harder. When josh walks into the class he sees one of his worse enemies; Scott! He's already in a bad mood because he has to take an anger management class. They all receive their dogs, Josh gets Sully; the biggest and meanest dog. Their instructors Mr. Weller tells that if they stay calm, the dogs will be calm. Josh isn't totally up for this, but he grabs Sully, Sully jumps up him and growls furiously. Scott takes Sully and calms him down; this only makes mad. Josh takes back Sully; walking back to the room where he sits. The people in the group had to get the dogs to follow commands. Only when Josh thinks things will got better; Travis walks in with his leather jacket thinking he's all cool. One day after their class, Josh is improving lots with the dogs, while Travis isn't doing so well with them. Josh is standing quietly at the end of the room and he sees Travis kick his dog; Josh speaks up as he is outraged with what has just happened. One surprising day, Josh, Andrew, and Miranda get a call from the police department saying they want to see Josh down at the station. Josh looks down at the picture; he sees his intials in the fish club his dad gave him many years before. The late night before Josh leaves and doesn't return for awhile. The police recall that Josh has badly hurt Scott; he's in the hopsital. Soon enough they find out that it's Travis who beat up Scott. Scott says he heard a leather jacket scrap across a wall, they all know that Travis is the only one who has a leather jacket. Travis doesn't show up for the last day at their anger management class, he is arrested for injuring Scott. Andrew and Miranda are proud of how well Josh is doing. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. This book kept me interested and it always had something new happening.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

City of Bones is the first book in The Mortal Instruments trilogy. It is a book all about Demons and Shadowhunters (the people that fight the demons) and vampires and werewolves and faeries. It is about a 15 year old girl, Clary Fray, who is unknowingly not a real part of the human world, but something much more. She starts to find this all out when she goes to a club one night and sees some people that no one else can see. Soon her mom is kidnapped and it is up to her to learn everything she has to about this new world and of her mother's past. In this book you watch as a seemingly normal girl gets her world flipped upside down. It's a fast read, lots of action and drama. It is very interesting and has a lot of twists. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to get out and see different types of worlds.

Born Blue

In the book Born Blue by Han Nolan the main character Janie is put into a foster home after her biological mother decides she doesn't want to take care of her. Janie lives with Patsy and Pete in this old stick house, so she calls it. Patsy always seems to care such more about the babies that always come in and house of there. The only person Janie has is Harmon. Harmon is a few years older then her, but not long Harmon got adopted by the James's. One day while Janie is getting off the bus, the next thing she knows is she is in a bush with her Mama Linda. Mama Linda is her biological mother just so you know. Mama Linda tells Janie to get into the car, so she does as she is told. Two other people are in the car with Mama Linda and Janie, Daddy Mitch and Mama Shell. The reason that Janie who now calls herself Leshaya, is in the car with them is Mama Linda traded Janie "Leshaya" for heroin, and Daddy Mitch sold it. Soon after that Daddy Mitch gets caught selling drugs, Mama Shell and Daddy Mitch gets thrown into jail. Leshaya took about 10,000 dollars that they have hidden. Leshaya finds where Harmon lives, she stays with them for awhile till they find out she is stealing their things. She packs up her things in her laundry bag from Mama Shell's and Daddy Mitch's. While staying at the James's she joins a band and plays at a local bar. After all her partying she gets pregnant by some guy she doesn't even know. She meets this lady named Joy; she stays with Joy till she has her baby girl, Etta Harmony James. Instead of her keeping Etta she runs off to the James's saying that Etta is Harmon's baby girl. Leshaya leaves and decides that singing is all that she wants. She joins a band named Kind of Blue. This guy heard her singing says she is good enough to join another band; she leaves Kind of Blue with no thought. She records at a studio, she so far has what she wants, but not long after she got kicked out of Paul's. Paul teaches her how to read music and play on the piano, not only that but he teaches her how to write music. She disrespects him, the next she’s living on the streets. Leshaya calls up Mama Linda, who finally answers her phone. Mama Linda gives Leshaya her address. Five long hours later, she arrives at Mama Linda's. She walks into Mama Linda's house; she searches for her and finds her in her room. She is lying on her bed; she lifts her head up to look at who she calls Janie. Janie opens the shade as Mama Linda asks. Janie thinks she's going to leave in about a day or two but it seems to be longer then that. She stays around till Mama Linda dies which is about three and a half months. Mrs. Trane tells Janie stories about Mama Linda when she is a child. Mama Linda went into a coma, even though she can't hear Janie, she still tells Mama Linda about her life. Mrs. Trane over hears Janie talking to Mama Linda about her daughter Etta. Mrs. Trane says that Janie is heading down the same road that her mother headed down. Janie denied it, since Mama Linda dies; Janie stays one night with Mrs. Trane. She takes 150 dollars from her. She takes a taxi to the James's. As Janie stands outside the window of the James's, she sees a little girl standing next to Mr. James. She realizes that it's Etta. She sees Harmon walk into the kitchen, a lady who Janie thought is a maid turns out to be Harmon's girl friend. Janie can't make up her mind if she wants to ask for Etta back or not.

Go Ask Alice

Go Ask Alice is an actual diary from a girl in her teens. This book takes you into this young girl's life for a couple years as her diary and best friend. It shows you the life of drugs and what it's like to take them. As well as what can happen when you take them. Many bad things have happened to this girl because of her taking drugs. Some of the time she was even tricked into taking them. It is horrible to read how people can destroy someone while they are high. But it's because it's a horrifyingly true story that makes it appeal to people to read. I enjoyed this book because of how real it is, it isn't just some fanatsy story it is real life which helps you relate more to the book while reading it. It is sad to read how badly drugs affect her. But i would deffiantly recomend this book to anyone.

Snow by Tracy Lynn

The book Snow by Tracy Lynn is a book based on the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is a story about a young girl, Jessica, who grew up as a duchess. Her mother died when she was a baby. Her father, the Duke ends up marrying again later on in Jessica's life. The woman, Anne, is now Jessica's new step-mother and is seen as most step-mothers are in stories, evil. Eventually Jessica is hidden away from people and locked away. Which gives her a pale look which is how people start calling her, Snow. The story continues as Snow against her new mother. Along the way she meets up with some interesting creatures she later calls her friends, and then her family. This is the classic story of Snow White but with scientific reasoning's and explanations for it all. It's very interesting and a fun read.

The book I read was about a 13 year old who lost his dad over 2 years ago. Since his dad went missing he has been trying to find him. While he did that Artemis kept the family business, of robbery smuggling and other illegal activity's, going. While he was doing this he found out fairy's have been hiding under the earth for 1000s of years. He uses this knowledge to capture a fairy and then uses it to get ransom gold. After all that happened he befriended the fairies and is using them to help him find his father. What he doesn't know is that there is an evil fairy that is trying to take over the underworld and kill all the humans. I give this book a 4/5. It's a great book for people that like puzzles and problem solving. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis_Fowl_(series) here is a link to find more info on the books and story line.

Busting Vegas; Ben Mezrich

He looked up from the chips, at the two pit bosses. Even though Semyon and Allie had just jumped their bets to sixty grand in one hand, the pit bosses weren't suspicious at all. They had bought Semyon's act completly. They would have never guessed that Semyon had actually manipulated the cards to deal his own teammate an ace. Christ, this really was to freaking easy. Semyon looked at Allie, and she matched his eyes. "Well, Dyevchik, are we ready for another hand?" Allie flashed her eyelashes at him. "Of course, Nikolai. The night is just getting started." Victor was right. They were going to bring the casinos to their knees.
This book tells the tale of the MIT whiz kid who brought the casinos to their knees. Upon stumbling across a sign that read "Make money. Play blackjack" Semyon was falling into a slump Massachusetts Institute of Technology or known as MIT. Staring at green computer screens everyday all day created a lack of boredom. Semyon is very sharp in his classes, but somehow this black jack sign that had the word money on it stopped his doing. Within a few weeks Semyon was practicing card couning, learning three techniques, and making it on the black jack team. Semyon went from staring at computer screens all day to playing blackjack in casinos like Monte Carlo. Not just playing blackjack, but winning huge. This books tells the secrets to how Semyon Dukach beat the blackjack system with a team. To me this book was one of the best ones i've ever read. This book is based on a real story which makes it really interesting. The book is confusing at first, but once you get it, you won't be able to put it down. I'd rank this book a 5/5.

I Just finished the book The Big Empty by J.B. Stephens. This book is about how a sickness swept the United States and killed hundreds of thousands of people, the disease is called Strain 7. Some people survived the sickness but only to live in a severely restricted nation. The miltary controls everyone, the military is the police in the new nation. If anyone breaks any crime they get shot or hung. There are curfews for everyone and if anyone are on the streets after a certain time they are shot on spot. Some people just couldnt live this way. So a few people go on a journey threw the Big Empty (the new nation) in search of a new life and well being. This book isnt based on one character but many. This book tells a little bit about there lives as you go threw the book. This book wasnt bad but i have read better books. I would rate this book 6 out of 10.

50 Cent From Pieces To Weight

I really think this book is a must read for everyone. Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) wrote this book on his life on how he went from the ghetto to starlight. Its not just about his rap stories or anything like that. He explains ow he bought his first land roover for 28 thousand dollars by selling crack. Its just unbelieveable to be in the situations he was in and he was strong enough to make it threw them. By reading this book it shows you how to over come the toughest problems in your life and not to give up and Never accept defeat. I give this book a 10 out of 10.

Rash

I feel that Rash is a book for anyone who is interested in football or in the future stories. I enjoyed this book very much, this book was a fast read and a very interesting one at that. Rash is about a boy named Bo and his WindO friend Bork, and how Bo started a big rash that spreaded through his whole school cause a panic.
This book is based in 2074 where allot of things have changed. For example: French Fries are illegal, Football has been banned, and Running isn't just for your health anymore. People get in trouble very easy in this time. When people get into trouble they end up in these jails that aren't really like jails. I feel that it is more like work factories with cells for beds. Bo's dad and brother both are in these work factories. His dad works in a shrimp factory and his brother is on a road fixing crew in Nebraska. Bo also ends up in a Jail factory for getting in a fight with a guy that was trying to steel his girl from him. Now he has no girl and is stuck making pizzas everyday in jail. Which he leaves his Mom and Grandpa at home. Bo's grandpa is stuck in the past. He sits and complains about everything all the time and he always would start out by saying back in the day.....!! Drinking is illegal but Bo's grandpa makes his own and drinks it all day.
In this book i feel i learned allot of lessons as in don't take things for granted. I also learned that family is a strong thing and as long as you keep it together it will stay strong. But when they fall apart they become week. If you are wanting to read this fine book go to https://www.betterworld.com/Rash-id-0689869045-c-3408.aspx where you can buy it for pretty cheep.
