Go Ask Alice

Go Ask Alice is an actual diary made by a troubled 15 year old girl in the 70s and about her journey into addiction. It is a book about an innocent and shy teenage girl introduced to the drug world. It all started when some friends slipped her some LSD in her soda and then her whole life was turned around. After that, she starts to experiment with other hard drugs and starts to lose her grip on reality. After a few months of that she's hooked and trys to find every possible way to get out. Also her family there by her side through it all and forgiving her for everytime she screwed up. Even after she trys to get out of the drug scene, she still struggles with letting go. This book really shows how much drugs can screw up your life even when your trying to get out of them. She ends up dying of a drug overdose. Alice was only one out of thousands of drug deaths that year.

That is so sad. Addiction is certainly baffling! I can't
imagine the feeling.
