Band of Brothers

The book, Band of Brothers, is set in World War II and is about the different experiences the soldiers in Easy company, 101st Airborne Division and the U.S Army all had endured throughout the war in Europe. Stephen E. Ambrose, the author of Band of Brothers, describes with full detail on how certain lives and experiences of the heroic soldiers changed from fighting through, D-Day, Operation Market-Garden, fighting in Bastogne and attacking there way too Hitler's Eagle's Nest. Band of Brothers starts out in Camp Toccoa, Georgia and it begins with describing the general backgrounds, the lifestyles and changes the men went through and showing the rigorous, extreme training the men of the Easy company, 506Th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and the U.s Army had to go through to get ready for the assault on Normandy or most likely known as D-day. As the brutal training went on and jump school ended, the fully powered, disciplined parachute soldiers were ready for action. As the book goes on, Easy Company parachutes into normandy and begins too slowly progress throughout Germany and German powered countries. Stephen does a great job of showing the battle scenes and the gory images that make you feel like your in the battlefield with Easy Company. What really makes this a great book is how he interviewed alot of the living soldiers that participated in Easy Company and 101st Airborne Division and there perspectives and expierences they had while fighting in that gruesome war. I give this book a 9 out of 10 because of the great detail and is a great book for readers that like to read about Military History.
